About me
I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Statistics at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where I work with Professor Claudia Solís-Lemus.
I previously earned a master’s degree in Data Science and Statistics from UW–Madison and a B.S. in Applied Mathematics from the School of the Gifted Young at the University of Science and Technology of China.
Research interests
My research focuses on statistical inference for phylogenetic trees and networks. I develop mathematical representations and computational methods for comparing evolutionary histories. I am also interested in Bayesian inference and its applications.
Recent work and activities
- Preprint (2026): Matrix representations and distance metrics for unlabeled ranked phylogenetic networks, with Julia A. Palacios and Claudia Solís-Lemus.
- May 2026: Participated in the Molecular Evolution Workshop at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, MA.
- August 2025: Gave an oral presentation, A Distance Metric for Unlabeled Phylogenetic Networks, at the Joint Statistical Meetings in Nashville, TN.
