Matrix Representations and Distances for Phylogenetic Networks

We develop matrix representations and distance metrics for rooted, ranked, unlabeled phylogenetic networks. The representation records the order of branching and hybridization events, allowing network comparisons through matrix norms. The framework supports different numbers of hybridizations and both isochronous and heterochronous sampling.
